community-supported infrastructure

Community-supported infrastructure is a term coined in close collaboration with the Solidary Agriculture movement. The basic idea is for transition initiatives to join forces in maintenance and provision of ther internet and web services.

This can be achieved very cheap, as every member of the organization can request access to any part of the infrastructure, if desired. One can also take part in the decision making processes around extension of bare metal machines, take over certain domains (WordPress, drupal, Docker, E-Mail, ...) and administer the contact to the communities.
